Richmond Receives Third Perfect Score From Human Rights Campaign

For the third year in a row, the City of Richmond scored a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s annual Municipal Equality Index Scorecard. The MEI examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of LGBTQ+ people who live and work there. Cities are rated based on non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement and leadership on LGBTQ+ equality.

Celebrating AAPI Month with Officer Phon Hoonsan

May is Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and OutRVA had the pleasure of speaking with Officer Phon Hoonsan, a Richmond native for over 15 years and a military veteran with the United States Air Force and a member of the LGBTQ community. Officer Hoonsan has been a police officer for over 19 years, serving 15 years with the Richmond Police Department and working as a Public Information Officer with the Public Affairs unit.

Wedding Season at The John Marshall where “Everyone is Served Graciously”

The Hotel John Marshall opened in the late 1920s and has since welcomed icons such as Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley as well as former Presidents like Nixon, Ford, and Carter.
