Nerve: Stories of Queer Resilience

TheatreLAB and Richmond Triangle Players are once again partnering with Virginia Anti-Violence Project to help tell powerful stories of the LGBTQ+ community. These stories of resilience and strength have been collected over the past year and are being crafted into an original piece of theatre by an ensemble of actors and writers. The piece, NERVE: Stories of Queer Resilience, is led in concept and creation by Melissa Rayford, and will be performed on January 15th and 22nd at Richmond Triangle Players as a benefit for the Virginia Anti-Violence Project (VAVP).

Bring your own source of light (flashlight, cellphone, etc). Gathering outside of theaters on the eve of the Presidential Inauguration at promptly 5:30 pm, people will join in a collective, simultaneous action, together creating "light" for challenging times ahead. Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater, these artists and communities will make a pledge to continued vigilance and increased advocacy.
