Fan Holiday House Tour
Dec. 10 and 11, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Get a rare chance to step into the Fan’s historic row houses to experience some of Richmond’s finest homes decked out for the holidays. Ten houses open their doors during this tour supporting the Fan District Association. Tickets $25. Website
Court End Christmas
Dec. 11, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Nine historic sites participate in this free holiday open house. Experience carriage rides, caroling, live music, kids crafts, gift shops and more. Participating sites include The Valentine/Wickham House, The Valentine First Freedom Center, The John Marshall House, St. John’s Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, The Museum and White House of the Confederacy, Monumental Church, The Egyptian Building (VCU Medical Center Campus), and the The Virginia State Capitol. Gardenfest of Lights

Illuminate Light Show

Off the beaten path, Meadow Event Park lights up with a drive-thru event. Stay in your nicely heated car as you cruise through festive sparkling displays. Richmond Ballet presents their signature performance of this holiday classic. Clara and her Nutcracker Prince battle the Rat King, then travel through an Enchanted Snow Forest to meet the Dancing Bear, Chinese Dragon, and Sugarplum Fairy. Hop to Maymont’s to travel back in time and step into the Dooley’s estate. Experience the holiday season as the Guilded Age home is decked out in the warmth of the holidays with a fully trimmed tree, evergreen decorations and more. Tours on the half hour, $5. For an extra treat, visit on Dec. 9 and 16 for Maymont by Moonlight. Caroling, seasonal refreshments, and horse drawn carriage rides make the evening magical. Tickets $22-$29.
