Watch out Richmond! “Book of Mormon,” the nine-time Tony Award® winning Best Musical, is making its way into town at the Altria Theater and will have shows until Nov. 9.
South Dakotive native Cody Strand, 25, plays the iconic Elder Arnold Cummingham who travels with Elder Kevin Price to Uganda to convert local tribes to Mormonism. Strand tries puts his own spin on Cunningham, who was portrayed by Josh Gad, voice of Olaf in Disney’s “Olaf,” in the original musical.
The cheeky musical, from the creators of South Park, features music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are four-time Emmy-nominated creators of the hit television show and Lopez is a Tony-nominated co-creator of the musical comedy, “Avenue Q.”
